Why are my eyes so swollen in the morning ?

I woke up this morning, my eyes could barely open, felt vey heavy like the tiredness was holding onto me. Looked in the mirror, those puffy eyes wouldn’t do their job properly. Haven’t we all experienced that ?

Puffy eyes and face can be due to several reasons, such as tiredness, excess alcohol or salt, stress, or as we grow older weaker collagen.

Fortunately there are some few options to help us wake up that face.

Gently tap around the eyes with your ring finger.

This will stimulate blood flow and will get things moving. Swollen eyes are the response to a congestion caused by the lack of movement of fluid in your sleep. By doing this you will wake your system up.

Splash your face with cold water

Cold water will help activate those blood vessels that are all over your face and therefor will help wake up your skin.

Alternatively, you can use a water spray, this will be more gentle for sensitive skins as no calc, which can be agressive to the skin, is present in tap water.

Use a Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a very powerful tool when it comes to drain the face, help the lymphatic system and blood vessels moving. It even works better cold, so storing it in your fridge is a good idea.

Here is a short video on how to use it:

Apply Eye patches

Your under eye being one of the thinest skin in our body, this one is extra sensitive. Eye mask can help you tackle those puffed eyes and dark circles. For a little extra freshness, keep them in your fridge.

Use Cryo tools

One very satisfying thing to use are very cold tools in the morning. Cryo globs for the eyes and an ice roller for the face. I personally that this two combined have the perfect effect on my skin and on my mood. Perfect way to start the day.

Apply a serum

A powerful serum under your eye cream can really make a difference especially if that one contains caffeine. Apply a small drop under each eye and tap it through the skin with your ring finger, this movement will also help blood flow and can improve dark circles.
